Email on 3/7/12 from Will Smith (JBS ’11). Will played club lacrosse his first semester at Georgia Tech. During winter break that same year he decided he wanted to try out for the football team the following spring:
This is long overdue, but I wanted to thank you in helping me with a workout program while I was home on winter break. I continued it while back at school and I saw results! I wasn’t able to clean but I do know that my bench went from round 180 to 200, my squat from around 300 to 345, and my dead lift from around 290 to 335. I also wanted to let you know that I had tryouts last week for the football team and they decided to let me join them this Spring! Thanks again for all your help.
Will is still playing for Georgia Tech’s and was able to travel with the team to 2014 Orange Bowl. The #8 Yellow Jackets defeated #11 Mississippi State Bulldogs 49-34. Congrats Will!
Email on 4/22/12 from Bud Wilson. Bud and I worked together to strengthen the ligaments and muscles around his knees before going in to have them both replaced.
I wanted to let you know that your classes and special work out regimen that you set for me prior to my bilateral knee replacement made the whole experience far less stressful than I could have ever imagined. From those first steps after surgery to my final days of physical therapy, my therapists (both at BJC Health Systems – In Home and Pro Rehab in Brentwood) all were impressed with how fast I progressed with my range of motion and my ability to straighten my legs to “zero degrees”. I am convinced that it was the result of the 6 weeks of conditioning that you set up for me and then helped me work through to get ready for the surgery. Now at ten weeks, I am back on the elliptical machine and up to 3 miles in 25 minutes. I’ll be back in class very soon.
Thanks, William, for all of your help…it was very instrumental in the speed and ease of my recovery!
